For a girl constantly on the go (more than full-time job and baby in tow), I have to get creative with dinner ideas. I love trying new recipes but don't have ample time to peruse cook books or websites. My hubby Chase gave me the idea of a dinner schedule. I went back and forth on the idea for some time because I love the spontaneity of coming up with something great at random. What I don't love is standing in front of an open refrigerator door @ 7pm trying to come up with something quick in 10 minuets... Usually ends up in Nacho Nite... Not a bad idea, just not 7 nights a week...It literally took me 10 minuets to create a 2 week rotation dinner schedule with a couple repeats and room to be creative or try something new.
Example; Grill Nite. Chase and I love to grill anything and everything. Our standard tends to be chicken and asparagus, so we always keep those as staples in our house. Of course if I came across a great new idea or recipe coinciding with the BBQ, I could plan the next grill night accordingly.
It saves time which there is never enough of in my life, and money by keeping a standard grocery list of things to always have on hand and to look for on sale.
Tomorrow night is Meatloaf Nite! I know some of you might despise meatloaf, but like my father-in-law I love it! I've been searching all week for a new recipe, any ideas?
Tidbit: If you do happen to have time, check out this fabulous website (it will change your life); http://www.tastespotting.com/
Cheers!
