happy christmas...

Well it's been almost two weeks since our last post, because we have been sick sick sick! We are actually still in the middle of symptoms, but we did go to the doctor on Christmas Eve, so we're hoping to be on the mend...
Anyway... Recently Chase participated in a go-carting tournament put on by a vendor that Chase's company uses often. It was kind of a big deal and about 20 guys participated. Well my hot rod hubby won the whole tournament (obviously) and came home with a trophy and a bottle on champagne. Finn and I were very proud!
The weather here continues to be blistery cold and under 20 degrees daily. We still have plenty of snow, but we honestly haven't been enjoying it as much as we normally would, because of our colds. We didn't have running water for a couple days because of frozen pipes in our building.
Here is our little Christmas tree. Boxes and cards have been arriving daily and Finn has been getting very anxious about opening gifts.
On Christmas Eve, we went out to dinner with Finnigin and another couple at a fancy British restaurant for a traditional British Christmas dinner. We were planning to do so on Christmas day but decided against it because the price almost triples.
We started new traditions of opening Christmas "jams" (pj's) and reading "The Night Before Christmas" before Finn went to bed on Christmas Eve. Dave and Neese sent us the book with a recording of them reading Finn was so excited to hear there voices, although a little confused as to where they were. Finn calls grandpa "Dave" instead of grandpa.
Chase and I really enjoyed Christmas morning this year. Since Finn now visibly and vocally gets excited about his gifts, we enjoy preparing for Christmas so much more now.

We shared Christmas dinner with 3 other couples from the States. I've never spent Christmas with strangers before, but we really had a lovely day and made some new friends. Finn loved playing with all of his new toys, eating a massive amount of cheese, turkey, and cookies. He was asleep within minuets of putting him to bed. It was a very relaxing day ending with conversations with our families.
Today is Boxing day, Finn ran out of his room and straight to the Christmas tree in hopes of more presents (pretty cute) this morning. I'm not sure when I will be posting again since we will be out of the country on holiday until well after the new year. I hope you all spent wonderful time with family and friends this Christmas, and I want to wish you all a Happy New Year! Cheers!
