Saturday, we took a drive a few hours northwest to The Lake District. And since it was supposedly the last nice weekend of summer here, so did every other English person as well. The English countryside is so beautiful, also Chase loved driving over 85 mph the entire trip.
We stopped in Windermere to stretch our legs and look at one of the many lakes in "The Lake District". It was fun for Chase and I to listen to all of the adorable little accents of the other children playing with Finnigin.
After Windermere we were off to check out Finn's very first castle in Muncaster. The drive was another few hours, and the roads-well road, which was basically the width of a narrow driveway, was INSANE! Basically the general rule for driving here is 60mph is the national speed (everywhere, not just the motorways), but you're actually supposed to go above 70, 85-95 is typical. And get out of everyones way because they all drive ballistically, my husband included. At one point I said, "Finn, Daddy hasn't driven with you this fast since you were in Mommy's tummy," Chase says, "That's because here it's legal and at home I'd go to jail". The most amusing part to me is that if Chase didn't normally drive like this ILLEGALLY at home, he wouldn't last a second on the roads here. Needless to say I am making a mental note to save for the copious amounts of speeding tickets my hubby will get while adjusting to American driving again in 6 months.
Finn was petting this lion and then decided to ride him...
After hours of driving, thousands of sheep, and 5 random palm trees; we had done Muncaster Castle, which was beautiful by the way. I'm excited that our first weekend here was spent exploring, hopefully to foreshadow what the rest of our time here will be.
P.S. If you could pray for Finn, he woke up this morning having vomited in his make shift bed, thankfully the belongings that we shipped arrived at exactly the same time so we now have his pack and play, while we wait for his new cot bed (crib)to arrive. Chase feels fine, but I am a little nauseous as well. Finn also puked 3 more times in the bath, I hope he just ate something bad and it isn't a bug. xo!

Beautiful! What a great weekend you guys had..well, aside from the throwing up, but the castle is lovely. I hope Finny feels better soon. xoxo
