[time] changes...

Well we made it. After 24 hours of total travel, we finally made it to our new home in Chester. A brief recap of travelling alone with Finn internationally went a little like this; he's a total trooper! Since he had his own seat with his car seat on the flights so he was able to recline and relax. I do feel bad for the little girl sitting in front of him who dealt with his constant kicking of the seat for 9 1/2 hours. On that flight, Finn probably slept a total of 3 hours (mind you was a red eye flight so I was expecting more) but British Airways decided to seat EVERY child in the very same section. So every time Finn drifted off some baby started screaming. I have to commend Finn though because as tired as he was he didn't fuss at all. I think he was just so excited. Also he is afraid of Shrek-which is amusing to me because of the tremendous amount of similarities between Finn and the poorly-mannered green ogre.
Travelling through airport security  with a squirmy toddler, car seat, 2 exploding-ly large tote bags and a pillow was not easy, but I am grateful for the Heathrow security and customs workers who obviously felt sorry for me. When we were THE LAST people on our connection flight to Manchester, and Finn kicked the crap out of the seat of a 300+ lb man, is when the crazy laughing started for me. I was so tired. And finally when I had to carry Finn in his car seat with everything else I brought down 4 flights of stairs because there was no lift (elevator), I was done. When we saw Chase walking towards us I burst into 4 tears and then started laughing like Angelina Jolie in Girl Interrupted (I looked like her too).
My husband is SO good at driving here in the UK, which is complete madness. And we plan on putting our little navy blue Ford Fiesta diesel to good use.
Our house is ADORABLE. I cant believe we lucked out with such a roomy, great place. And we don't have a house number, we have a name; The Coach House Stable.  It came furnished for us, and is very clean. AND the best part is, we live in downtown Chester so EVERYTHING is in walking distance. I have yet to go outside and see people walking without strollers. And we are right nest to an AMAZING park with lots of grass and trails for running. I spent the rest of my first evening here re-arranging all of the furniture and unpacking our bags, which by the way the rest (and by "rest" I mean "all") of our stuff is still being shipped. And EVERYTHING you buy here is shipping only-but shipping is free (to accommodate the small car situation here) so we have no bed for Finn yet. Our pack n' play is en route and last night we bought a crib but it won't be here until Tuesday or Friday of next week. Also my new hair dryer and flat iron will be here Monday, YESSSSSS! So, We have corralled Finn into a brick wall with mattresses and it's working, meaning he hasn't escaped yet.
When we arrived here it was around 3:00pm so we just stayed up until bed time and slept great. Tonight however (if you haven't noticed it's actually 2:30am in the UK) I am not sleeping so well. I heard Finn wake up in his room, but he went right back to sleep, but now I can't. Thus I am blogging for you all and waiting for Tylenol PM to kick in.
Tomorrow (or rather later today) we are driving up to the Lake District to enjoy what's left of the beautiful weather we are having. I'll post pictures soon, Cheers!
